The first of a two-course sequence for the Biology major, Introductory Biology I covers the scientific method, the chemical basis of life, energetics, cell structure and function, genetics and biotechnology, the origins of life and evolution. If BI 101 is chosen to satisfy the “Scientific Inquiry” CORE requirement at Lake Erie College, then both the lecture (BI 101) and laboratory (BI 101L) are required.
