Cybersecurity, B.S.

Within this program, students will assess modern cybersecurity challenges that threaten our privacy, security, and safety, and gain both the knowledge an dhands-on technical skills to protect digital assets from cybercriminals who leverage sophisticated social and cyber tactics to facilitate attacks.

Students who complete this curriculum will not only be prepared for a career as a cybersecurity professional, but they will also be well-positioned to obtain a number o fcertifications that will increase their emplyability, including certified ethical hacker, certified information systems security professional, and certified forensic examiner.

Students who complete the recommended IT focus area will not only be prepared for numberous cybersecurity certifications; they will also be prepared for the CompTIA A+ exam.

Rize Courses

Lake Erie College participates in the Lower Cost Models Consortium (LCMC) supported by Rize.  Some courses in this major will utilize online course content offered through the LCMC.  Students will be able to identify online courses offered through the LCMC by the “RZ” designator after the course number (for example, CSC 101 RZ).
