Laboratory Safety Standards Certificate

Online Program

The online certificate program will prepare undergraduate tudents for their post-graduate transition to the industrial or research environments. Most industrial and research jobs require such training. Students graduating with this training will likely be viewed as more viable hires. In addition, individuals from industrial or educational settings may also use this as a means of completing or updating their professional certifications. The Certificate is valid for one year. An OSHA standard refresher course is also available.

OSH 101 - OSHA Laboratory Standard Semester Hour(s): 1

Up to four courses from the following (2 SH maximum):

OSH 110 - Safe handling of laboratory glassware Semester Hour(s): 0.5
OSH 111 - Proper use of laboratory hoods Semester Hour(s): 0.5
OSH 112 - Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Semester Hour(s): 0.5
OSH 113 - Safety Data Sheet Usage in the Laboratory Semester Hour(s): 0.5
OSH 114 - Proper Labeling in Accordance with GHS Guidelines Semester Hour(s): 0.5
OSH 115 - Flammables and Explosives in the Laboratory Semester Hour(s): 0.5
OSH 116 - Bloodborne Pathogens in First Response Environments Semester Hour(s): 0.5
OSH 117 - Bloodborne Pathogens in Healthcare Facilities Semester Hour(s): 0.5
