ES 317 - Soil Science Semester Hour(s): 3 Semester(s) Offered: Fall even years Pre-Requisite(s): BI 101 , BI 102 , CH 103 , CH 104 ; or permission of instructor Co-Requisite(s): ES 317L An introduction to the physical, chemical, and biological properties of soil, with emphasis on the impact of soil on ecosystems. Topics include soil science terminology, soil formation, soil classification and pedology, soul mineralogy, chemical processes, fertility, edaphology, role of soil in agriculture, land use, and environmental issues. Class includes Field Trips and off-campus site visits.
