BI 330 - Evolutionary Biology Semester Hour(s): 3 Semester(s) Offered: Fall Pre-Requisite(s): BI 101 /BI 101L , BI 102 /BI 102L or by permission of instructor Evolutionary biology explores the principles and mechanisms of organic evolution and the lines of evidence for evolution. Topics covered include genetics, selection, adaptation, speciation, coevolution, life history strategies and the fossil record. Emphasis will be on understanding the broad concepts critical to evolution as the unifying theme of modern biology. The structure of the course includes lectures, written assignments, comprehensive exams and class discussion.
