HI 304 - The American Civil War Semester Hour(s): 3 Semester(s) Offered: Spring odd years This course examines the developments and controversies that led up to the U.S. Civil War, along with a study of the course of the war itself, the major personalities involved, an analysis of both the confederate and Federal governments, societies and economies. It continues with an examination of some of the repercussions of the war, at home and on the battlefield, as well as after the fighting ended.
