The James F. Lincoln Learning Commons

Library Services

Research is one of the most important skills students must develop in their college academic life. Dr. Jenn Miller is available to help with any of your research questions or needs. Make an appointment for in-depth assistance on research projects or for individual training in using the research resources. Dr. Miller is available to help students find what they need to succeed! Email jemiller@lec.edu for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Students may also visit the help desk in the Learning Commons with questions or to request support. The desk is staffed during all hours the building is open.

The online library system is located in Lake Erie Online (LEO). Students can access the library system in the Students tab, under the Learning Commons section, at any time. This system provides access to the online catalog, research databases, references, and OhioLINK services. The site is updated continuously and should be  your starting point for research. Students should have a library account to access all items. Please visit the help desk or email learningcommons@lec.edu to set up your account. Circulating items include books, loaner Chromebooks, and intramural materials that may be checked  out from the library.

Lake Erie College is a participating member of the OhioLINK library system, meaning you can access materials from other academic libraries across Ohio. Please contact Dr. Jenn Miller for more information.

Lake Erie College also maintains a partnership with Morley Library in Painesville. Students who attend the college can receive a library card at Morley by showing their student ID. Students can then access all the library services and   materials (online or in print) for free. Students may also use the study rooms in Morley Library and can reserve these as needed.

Instructors often put materials on reserve at the Learning Commons. These items are kept behind the printing desk  and may be checked out for use in the Learning Commons.
